Description:
Barberton is set in very old
country, and well worn to boot. The hills were scuffed
threadbare by treasure hunters centuries ago. Even before the
glint of gold there was the allure of red ochre, and almost
every thing is prefaced by die phrase “the oldest”. This is the
Frontier of Time.
Come and experience our tranquil homely atmosphere at Royal
Sheba Guest House. We offer you a luxurious, peaceful and secure
stay in the beautiful town of Barberton - the Gem of the
Lowveld.
With the tropical garden and quite surroundings Royal Sheba
Guest House proves to be an ideal setting for relaxation. The
blue sparkling pool in a tropical setting invites you to cool
down in the summer heat. A Billiard table and bar is available
for our guests only.

8 luxurious en-suite bedrooms, all with air-conditioning,
television and hospitality trays. Beautifully decorated they

On request we will prepare a BBQ for you. Listen to the birds,
have a drink and enjoy your meal.
Barberton:
The wildness is surprising. For land so trod-over, delved into,
dug over and uprooted, it is blissfully serene and beautiful.
The effervescent sense of wilderness and adventure percolates
through the scars of pits, paths and the patchy overlay of alien
plantations.
Barberton is a by-product of the hills, a relic of fleeting gold
fever. Once the “Gem of the Lowveld” the town now rests in the
supporting arms of the beautiful Makonjwa mountains. There are
Heritage Walk signposts around town and a number of hiking
trails in the hills behind. A slow stroll from town centre will
take you into a gentle wooded ravine where you can see Purple
Crested and Knysna Turaco, and Narina Trogon. Another walk
includes a kilometre long tunnel used in the old days to move
ore from a mine to a long vanished crusher.
This is a destination you can make your own. Relax in the gentle
serenity of the area, or thrill to the wild exuberance of the
pioneering spirit as you explore on foot, by mountain -bike or
4x4. Experience the wonder of this most ancient geology and its
associated botanical richness, or play a gentle round of golf or
game of bowls in die velvet air.
Within a twelve kilometre radius of the town you can reach half
a dozen nature and wildlife reserves; inside an hour, through
Malelane, you can be in the Kruger National Park. In two hours
by road you can reach either Maputo or Mbabane, the capital of
neighbouring Mozambique and Swaziland.
Activities in
Barberton:

Cycling paths; Fly fishing; Horse riding; Golf. Gym facilities
