This delightful old house has been
lovingly restored and tastefully decorated to reveal the
timelessness of a bygone era combined luxury. De Ark offers a
combination of self-catering and Bed & Breakfast services. We can
currently accommodate up to 18 persons sharing.
De Ark House dates back to 1857, which makes it one of the oldest
remaining buildings in Lydenburg. Initially built as a parsonage,
the house was completed in late 1857 with Rev JH Neethling and his
family as the first residents. In 1893 it was converted into a
double-storey building.

Luxury En-Suite Apartments:
Our range of apartments include twin three-quarter, double and queen
bedded options. Each room is furnished to represent a different
period style with an eclectic mix of period furniture and exquisite
fabrics - capturing the spirit of a bygone era.
Additional Features:
Each apartment is fully equipped with a complete kitchenette, which
includes a stove, microwave oven and refrigerator. Also included is
Satellite television, electric blankets and heaters for winter - and
fans for those hot summer days. Our intimate Honeymoon Suite also
houses a luxurious spa bath.
Outdoors:
The beautifully landscaped garden offers a tranquil getaway from
everyday life and features a magnificent swimming pool; a gazebo and
terrace - which is suitable for private functions; barbeque
facilities and safe off-street parking.
Breakfast:
Breakfast is served in the dining
room, with its beamed ceilings and open fireplace, offering
wholesome country faire. In summer time breakfast is served on the
patio or in the lovely gazebo.
Weddings &
Conferences:
Be transported back to the times of courteous meetings and lavish
affairs as De Ark now also hosts corporate functions, and business
meetings. For the true romantics at heart, De Ark is the perfect
venue to make a wedding reception absolutely magical.
Accreditations:
De Ark Guest House has been graded by the Tourism Grading Council of
South Africa, in the category for guest houses, and received a total
of four stars for service excellence and unsurpassed luxury.

After 98.5 KM go into N4 - Freeway at Witbank
After 78.6 KM turn left onto R33/R540 towards Belfast.
After 669M turn right into R540 towards Dullstroom.
After 32 KM pass Dullstroom on R540.
After 48 KM turn left into R36 towards Lydenburg.
R36 become Viljoen Street.
Go past Wimpy on right-hand - CO Viljoen /Voortrekker street.
Turn left at next stop - CO Viljoen/Kerk Street.
Turn right at next stop - CO Kerk/Kantoors Street
