Description:
It is only when one gets to the gate of Forest Creek Lodge that the
rock-strewn grassland is left behind, one climbs up, up and up, and
enter this little enchanted world. The mystique of the place is
tangible. A strong feeling of peace will overwhelm you.
On this magnificent piece of land we hope we have catered for
everyone, from Luxury guest suites at the main lodge to a
self-catering cottage. There are hiking trails along the stream
under the canopy of trees. Treat yourself to an hour or two of
relaxation in our Forest Spa
Forest Creek Lodge is a haven for honeymooners - celebrating your
first, fifth or fiftieth, you will be inspired by the romance of
this incredibly exclusive, private place.
Bird watching is amazing; there are many rare species here. We have
built a tree house in the riverine forest for bird watching, Pick
nicks. It is set high up in the canopy of the large trees and offers
superb views of the forest canopy and gorge. Some of the more exotic
species of interest to birdwatchers, such as the
Knysna loerie,
cinnamon dove, grey cuckoo shrike, blue mantled flycatcher, black
eagle and the ultimate "tick", the narina trogon, can be seen from
our treetop viewing platform or on a "walk and stalk" outing. This
interzonal habitat allows tree enthusiasts the opportunity of
identifying many uncommon species of trees, shrubs, orchids and
ferns.
For the International traveller Forest Creek Lodge is an ideal place
to relax and unwind after a long flight - a mere 180kms to the Kruger
National Park, enjoy the treatments in the private Forest Spa,
or just enjoy the tranquility of the bush. There is a private
Airstrip 8kms from the farm, we provide transfers from the Airstrip
to Forest Creek Lodge.
