Situated in the famous Kranspoort Mountain Pass approximately 40km north of Middelburg and close to Loskopdam Resort. You will discover paradise in the form of Matombu Lodge.

The self-catering lodge is perched on the summit of a “koppie” and provides panoramic views over miles. A variety of wildlife such as giraffe, zebra and various buck species drinking from the nearby waterhole can be viewed from the deck of the lodge.

There are 4 bedrooms that overlook the undulating hills and a fifth room is furnished with 3 bunk beds for the children. A lounge with fireplace and leather couches compliments the natural environment and architecture.

Sliding doors open onto a private terrace overlooking spectacular cliffs, gorges and wildlife. The unique white baboon specie is occasionally spotted in this area.

Relax at the crystal clear swimming pool and watch the glowing sunset while sipping a cocktail. A relaxed atmosphere of sheer contentment and the feeling of unity make this African experience unforgettable.

The Lodge sleeps 8 adults please 3 children and can only be booked by one group at a time.

How to get there
From Johannesburg and Pretoria:
• Take the N12 from Johannesburg or the N4 from Pretoria to Witbank.
• Just pass the Ultra City take the Vandijklsdrif/Middelburg-West off-ramp.
• Turn left towards Middelburg on the R575.
• At the T-junction turn right onto the R555.
• The R555 becomes the N11 (just outside Middelburg)
• You will find the turn-ff to Isiyala Game Lodge after about 34km
