Description:
Lone Creek River Lodge is a
Five Star Boutique Hotel
situated in the small village of
Sabie, on the Drakensberg escarpment next to the
Sabie River. The Lodge offers their guests a peaceful
and warm welcome in an ambiance complimented by the
tranquil surroundings.
Accommodation:
Guests have a choice between fully-serviced River Rooms
and Suites or Self-Catering Timber Cottages.
The fully-serviced River Rooms are situated in the Manor
Building. Facilities include en-suite bathrooms with
large oval baths and separate showers, a private balcony
with a spectacular view over majestic mountains and
beautifully- landscaped gardens.
The Luxury River Suites are situated on the banks of the
Sabie River. Stylishly-furnished interiors, an open
fireplace, an en-suite bathroom with separate shower, a
lounge area and a private patio overlooking the Sabie
River are all part of the package. Guests in either
Rooms or Suites can also enjoy DSTV, telephone with
e-mail facilities, tea and coffee making facilities,
room service or a relaxing afternoon at the freshwater
pool with drinks and light snacks.
The spacious self-catering Aspen-Style Timber Cottages
boast facilities such as en-suite bathrooms with big
oval baths, a lounge with open fireplace, a main
bedroom, a loft with twin beds ideal for children, a
fully-equipped kitchen, a deck with braai area, DSTV,
luscious landscaped gardens and a sparkling rock pool.
These cottages are ideal for family breakaways and will
give the self-catering enthusiast an unforgettable stay.
Restaurant:
The
restaurant offers superb
cuisine while guests sit back and listen to live
instrumental love songs performed on a clarinet. Enjoy a
5-course dinner at R165 per person or 3-course at R145
per person. Breakfast includes a continental breakfast
as well as the full English Breakfast. During the winter
months a warm fire burns away in the background. After a
candle-lit dinner, a cigar may be enjoyed on the stylish
veranda. Romantic dinners in the Wine Cellar can also be
arranged by special request.
Conference:
The executive conference
facilities create the ideal ambiance for
conferences and company getaways. This facility offers
seating for up to 80 delegates and provides
top-of-the-range equipment. A variety of team-building
and adventure activities are also available.

mountains, forests and river is the nearest you will get

Activities:
Be sure to experience
a breath-taking trail in the majestic mountains, whether
it is by 4 x 4, mountain biking, hiking or horse riding.
The Sabie River runs through the foot of these mountains
offering fly-fishing. Lone
Creek River Lodge is also within 60 km of seven of the
Lowveld’s most prestigious golf courses.
As far as transport is concerned, self-driving is the
most popular and ideal way to visit all the scenic
sites. Day tours can be arranged with companies
specializing in this field. There are 9 Waterfalls
within a 2 - 48 km radius of Sabie. A picnic basket may
be arranged to accompany you on your visit to these.
Mountain Biking, Horse Riding, Hiking, River Rafting,
Abseiling, Quad Biking, Laser Sport, Paint Ball, Tube
Riding, Golfing, Hot Air Ballooning, Helicopter
excursions, Birding and Fly Fishing are all outdoor
activities that might be enjoyed in and around Sabie.
For the more cultural at heart, visits to the
Kruger National Park,
Sudwala Caves, Pilgrim’s Rest, Blyde River Canyon,
Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s Window, Cheetah Project,
Shangana Cultural Village, Barnyard Theater and the
Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Project are a must.
Directions
Recommended Routes: From Pretoria or Johannesburg take
the N4 towards Witbank and continue past Middelburg to
the Belfast turnoff. If the weather is good turn off
into Belfast and continue with the R540 through
Dullstroom and Lydenburg, and then with the R37, via the
Long Tom Pass, to Sabie.
