Description of property

The Country House is situated on a hilltop 900 meters above sea level, with majestic views over the Sabie River Valley and the Sabie River below. The farm borders the Pine- and Eucalyptus forests of Sabie, and to the other side lies the Hazyview agricultural heartland producing export quality citrus, bananas, avocadoes, mangoes and other subtropical fruits.

The Swimming Pool, Sauna and Jacuzzi lies within the 2 hectare lush subtropical garden, and swimming is pleasant from September to May. The garden is filled with beautiful indigenous trees, which have been labelled for easy identification. The garden is a birdwatcher's paradise, with three different kinds of Loeries frequenting the huge wild fig trees. For those seeking serenity, the garden offers many private corners to simply sit and watch the beauty of nature or to read a good book from our library.

The farm consists of 60 hectares of indigenous bush, alive with varied wildlife: small buck including Duiker and Bushbuck, Blue Vervet Monkeys and Bushbabies, many small mammals like Mongoose and Bats, and a myriad of indigenous birds inhabit the trees and ground. The beautiful walking trail down to the Sabie river is approximately 3 km long and guests can expect to see many waterbirds, leguanes, fish and otter on the water's edge. Swimming in the river is permitted on own risk, and a picnic basket for lunch can be enjoyed on the rocks next to the waterfall . Many more walking trails of different lengths are in close proximity to the country house
