Hulala Lakeside Lodge

Description:

On an emerald green spur cutting into a glistening lake of deep blue quicksilver, Hulala Lakeside Lodge lies, crisp in its colonial hues and set against rolling lawns that reach all the way to the waters edge. Simmering log fires and spectacular views of the dense forest and lake await you, our guest.

Enjoy breakfast on the terrace before exploring the wonders of Mpumalanga. Where will it be today? Kruger Park, Pilgrim's Rest, Bourke's Potholes, maybe a stroll in the forest or why not a spot of fishing? So much to see and do - so little time!

And after a day filled with what pleasures you most it's dinner time at Hulala! The smiling chef has grilled your catch of the day, everyone has trophies from their Mpumalanga shopping expedition, and the dining room is a buzz with stories of the "Big Five".

Our 5-course Table d'Hote dinner menu conjures up images of food that is deliciously rich in flavour, stylish in presentation and complex in preparation. Our cuisine is typically classical French / European style with a trace of South African tradition.

Escape from the city stresses for a few days, and at the same time breathe some new life into your business by organising your next conference or strategic planning meeting at Hulala Lakeside Lodge.

Our fully air-conditioned conference room is designed to offer total flexibility for all types of conferences. Furnishings are of a high standard and seating can be arranged according to specific requirements.

Rooms
Individually decorated suites with their mellow antiques and simmering romantic log fires as you relax in comfort with images of tomorrows promise shimmering in the moonlit water.

The bedrooms at Hulala are well appointed with en-suite bathrooms with each suite having magnificent views of the surrounding indigenous forest or Da Gama Dam. Private patios provide guests with the opportunity to witness the breathtaking views at dusk and dawn.

The suites have comfortable twin or double beds and family rooms are available for guests with children. All suites are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities and in winter, when the evenings are fresh, fires are lit in each suite to provide a cosy atmosphere when guests return to their rooms after the evening meal.

Recreational Activities:

The most popular activity at Hulala Lakeside Lodge is boating.  No power boats are allowed on the water, which maintains the ambience of peace and tranquillity.  We have a fleet of two-man canoes, peddle boats, rowing boats, bass boats for the anglers, and the ever favourite "Sundowner Cruise".

Seven species of Kingfisher, Egyptian Geese, African Jacana and the elusive Narina Trogan.  News of hundreds of White Fronted Bee-Eaters nesting in the embankment has travelled far, and visitors frequently pop in to photograph these birds.

A recent addition to Hulala Lakeside Lodge is the 9-hole "Golf" Course - A mixture between croquet and golf - Fun for Everyone!

There are three walking trails on the property - one an easy stroll through the plantation, the others slightly more energetic, through streams and over rocks.  These walks take an hour to ninety minutes.

There is also a swimming pool for those lazy "paperback" days in the wonderful Lowveld sunshine.
